The Argus

I’m happy to say that I’ve recently agreed to post some articles on Central Asian blog - The Argus. The first post (about the EU in Central Asia) is up already - just scroll down to find it. I’d send you direct to the post, but I think you should check out some of the other stuff on the site first. There’s been a lot of violence in Uzbekistan over the last few days, including a couple of terrorist bombings, and Nathan has been posting regular updates on the situation. Well worth taking the time to read.

Anyway, while I’m at the Argus, I’ll be writing mainly about the role of external powers, including Russia, in the region. So, if you haven’t already, I’d really recommend adding The Argus to your bookmarks.

Siberian Light will, of course, continue. Expect to see some more about… um… Siberia. I have some stuff about the rapidly increasing Chinese population, how people are reacting to it, and what it means for the China-Russia political balance. I’m also planning to look at Russia’s foreign policy a bit more closely over the next couple of months.
