Following claims that Spetsnaz special forces were in Kiev, ready to kill any democrat they saw, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov muses on the military’s latest deployments:
"If you follow the latest rumors, special units from the Russian GRU [the armed forces’ Main Intelligence Department] have acted in Iraq, Georgia, and have now landed near Kiev."
He forgot to mention the 200,000 troops stationed at Russia’s military base in Minnesota. I think that one’s top secret. Shame though - Russia’s military could do with a recruitment boost, and a slogan like this would come in pretty handy:
‘Join the Russian army — see the world!’
