Maybe it’s just me, but I think the only thing Karimov is gaining with the “Toe my line or hit the road” attitude is an impressive collection of burnt bridges.

Working Definition reports that four of the Peace Corps volunteers whose visas expired on 1st June and who were refused extensions by the Uzbek government have been transferred to Romania.
