Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has already been spotted in Kiev, retailing for the full (and well out of the range of most Ukrainians) price of $29.
Anyone seen any copies in Russia yet?

Московский Дом Книги (Moscow Book House) and other major bookstores, as well as specialized English-language bookstores all had it by July 16. I’m not aware of any night sales, though.
While the price is indeed high, it sells well, and for many foreign-language book departments Harry Potter is a godsend: it is the only hardcover British-published book that sells in such numbers. Most of the books than they have are American paperbacks, $4-5, which is comparable to the average price of Russian book.
I’m a fan, but I haven’t bought it yet: I’m nearing the deadline on my work, and I know that if I try to read a new HP, I wouldn’t be able to resist temptation to re-read every previous book. That would better wait for more relaxed time.
