The long awaited 3rd Annual Satin Pajama European weblog awards opened this morning, and I’m pleased to report that Siberian Light has been nominated in the Best CIS weblog category.
Some familiar faces have also been nominated, as have a few newer ones. All in all, it’s a bit of an eclectic list, but one full of blogs to grace anyone’s blogroll.
Anyway, enough waffle - time to go and do your democratic duty - go vote!

Well, S-L got my vote. Though at the time, it was running second to New Eurasia - oddly enough, a site desperately advertising for bloggers with no experience. Hoot.
The good thing about such events is that they alert you to all sorts of new links and networks and build traffic for everybody. That’s good - if not essential - for alternative media.

Congrats Andy. The Neweurasia thing looks like some kind of coordinated effort, to be honest, and I hope you prevail in the end. Although I have tremendous respect for Neweurasia and what they’re trying to do, it is not as widely read as SL, and it’s not really one blog as much as it is an aggregation of posts by a number of people (so I guess it could be considered a group blog).
And sadly I don’t think Sean actually made the list - not because he’s not providing a ton of provocative original content about Russia, but I think because the competition is focused on European blogs. I need to believe this because I didn’t make the list this year either
I have to assume it’s because I’ve been firmly in North America for many of the past 12 months. Guess we need to come up with some sort of award for best America-based Russia blog…or maybe not.
