There are so many blogs out there churning out good stories that sometimes I just can’t keep up. So, here are a few of the blog posts that have caught my attention in the past few days:
- Mikhail (Misha two percent) Kasyanov looks like he’ll be the unified opposition candidate in the 2008 Presidential elections, writes Mark MacKinnon.
- How do you sum up the fall of the Soviet Union in a picture? Darkness at Noon investigates.
- Naming and shaming - Sean reports on how Russian companies are taking a hardline with customers who are reluctant to pay their bills on time.
- Video footage of the 1956 Sputnik launch, courtesy of Russian Kafe.
- A tale of two oligarchs, from Russia Blog.
- And two posts from Grigory Pasko over at Robert Amsterdam. First, a story about attitudes to radioactive waste in Angarsk (fine town, people should write about it more) and second, a report about development in Listvyanka, the village where everyone meets Baikal for the first time.
- What next?

I just want to say I appreciate your blog and all of the links to former USSR blogs. Wish I’d found it sooner.
