From Russia with Love? what about Freddie Forsyth’s The Fourth Protocol, which was shown on the BBC a few months ago, certainly post Litvinenko.
The plot, let me remind you. An elite Soviet spy is infiltrated into the UK to set off an illegal nuclear bomb in an attempt to wreck growing Cold War rapprochement. Only our MI hero (Michael Caine) foils the plot at the loast minute.
in the final twist, the heads of the KGB and MI5 meeet at the end, and the whole episode was orchestrated by the two to keep the Cold War balance intact.
