Courtesy of the Russian President’s official website come these impressively candid pictures of Vladimir Putin fishing on a camping trip. No doubt designed to show that he’s a man of the people, the only thing people in the West are going to care about is that they show off Putin’s man boobs.
Still, I can’t criticize - the Russian President is in better shape than I am. And he’s caught more fish than I ever have.

hehe. He’s a bit saggy, but on the BBC photograph you can almost see a six-pack underneath. Putin’s certainly got the semiotics of dress (or lack of it) right in this one.
Mao may have been the first to make a photo-op of him in various states of undress in his annual promotion of swimming in the Yangzi (yuck). But I see that there’s been a trend in the recent press to catch world leaders or would be leaders in their swimming trunks.ie., Sarkozy vacationing in the U.S., and Royale’s infamous bikini shot. So why not the everybody what they want to see!
who knows? Obama and Hillary might be next in line.
