Russian President Vladimir Putin has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. The International Center for Research on Biofuels and Patents in Zurich has chosen Putin for his alternative fuel initiatives in Russia.
The Swiss organisation says its main goal is to prevent future wars over oil.
The centre proposed Putin for his ideas on developing energies based on nanotechnology. It also praised the President for his efforts to reduce Russia’s reliance on fossil fuels.
Surely?

In addition to the Kissinger reference, Alfred Noble lived a life contradicting the idea of peace.
In fairness to Russia Today, the above hyper-link notes that the cited Swiss org. isn’t in a position to nominate Noble Peace Prize candidates. In this sense, Russia Today was playing it square.
Others have another take on a recent Russia Today promotion of itself:

As the Russia Today CEO notes, the mentioned ad was for marketing purposes and not as a positive prop for Stalin. Russia Today has run critical features of the Stalin period in Russia.
The still relatively new Russia Today faces a tough market of numerous already existing 24/7 English language news networks. According to the Russia Today CEO, the ad on Stalin drew in additional viewers. In the long run, Russia Today’s chance for success will be due tp providing quality news reporting and features, different from English language mass media.
